What are the rules?
We have been clearing TV Adverts for broadcast since 2004, so have a very strong knowledge of what passes and what is likely to be rejected. We also have research, substantiation and creative capabilities to help you bring your proposition to the public.
The rules for TV Advertising in the UK are defined in the BCAP – Broadcast Advertising Code. An independent company, Clearcast, undertakes peer and expert reviews of all TV Advert scripts and final masters. They then either approve or rejects TV Adverts based on their claims, visuals and substantiation. Clearcast acts on behalf of the broadcasters to ensure the TV Adverts they show do not breach their OFCOM broadcasting licenses, or government advertising rules as enforced by the ASA – Advertising Standards Authority.
How can we help you get approval for your TV Commercial?
The submission process can be difficult. We have an extensive record of submitting TV Adverts to Clearcast and obtaining broadcast approval. Whilst not all claims can be approved, we work tirelessly to find ways of getting claims into an approvable form.
If you have already filmed your TV Commercial and are struggling with approval, we could still help!
We have worked with clients that have made their TV Advert, but have been unable to obtain Clearcast approval to run their TV Advert on television.
Our Compliance Experts can review your TV Advert and usually find ways to substantiate the claims you are trying to make by undertaking research and submitting documentation. Alternatively, we can usually “creatively” amend your scripts to make them compliant. So far, we’ve not found a product or service we couldn’t help! We can even make the amendments or re-create the TV Advert if needed.
Either send us your advert for review or call us on 0203 002 92 42 to find out more about our Compliance Services.
